Very Happy Now :)

Posted Wednesday, April 30th, 2008 at 9:13 am | A's Stuff, Photos, Random, Scrapbooking |

As some of you may know, I didn’t bring much scrap supplies with me to Switzerland as we didn’t have enough weight allowance. For almost a month, I was quite miserable scrapping with the limited stuff I had. So…. I did SOME SHOPPING!! :) And I’m a happy girl now coz look what came yesterday ….

See.. I told you! :p I’ve got some peeps to thank for my happiness and you know who you are. :)
Anyhows, I happily broke into my new supplies and did these last night…

I would really love to scrap more over this weekend since there’s a public holiday but we’re gonna be off to Paris so I guess the scrapping will have to wait. I can’t wait for our trip, it’s gonna be fun. Will update with photos if I can get some internet connection there.

Till then, take care and thanks to everyone who’s been coming by the blog.
Your presence is truly appreciated. :)

Lately…

I haven’t been scrapping any 12×12 layouts. Mostly because I didn’t bring much scrap supplies with me. But I managed to do these the past few days…

And this last one, for our new friends, Rob and Jackie. Jackie scraps too!! I’m looking forward to our crops together! :)

Have a good day!! :)

Rapperswil

Posted Monday, April 28th, 2008 at 1:03 pm | Family, Photos, Travel |

We visited a small town called Rapperswil on Saturday. We had a little adventure before getting there though… me got everyone on the wrong train. :) And we went on a little detour (and a short bus ride) before finally reaching our destination.

It was a beautiful town, on the northern tip of Lake Zurich. It’s a tourist town and the must-see sight are the 2 rose gardens. Unfortunately, they’re only in bloom from June to September so we didn’t get to see them. :(

Here are some pics …

While daddy was figuring out where we were.

Some pics of Rapperswil…

And the highlight of the day??? Lunch. :)

Jon’s very satisfied as you can see. :)

And my yummilicious, heavenly milkshake. :)

More pics here.. till next time! :)

This is what I’ve had a chance to do with E & H. It’s been great 99.99% of the time. :)

How To…

I found this while surfing today, from Keri Smith. I like to think of myself as creating art through scrapbooking and I found the above so, so true. I am guilty of some of the above, no less. But I’m glad to be posting this here as a reminder. Have a great day!

Zurich

Posted Sunday, April 20th, 2008 at 12:33 am | Family, Photos, Random, Travel |

We ventured to Zurich today. It took us about an hour by train. Weather was cool and by midday, it was really nice to walk around in just a light jacket. We visited the main shopping street – found the only English bookstore in Switzerland (we reckon!), a huge toy store and a chinese grocery store! :) It’s a wonderful city to visit, not a lot of sights to see, but an eye-opener because it’s so cosmopolitan (much like SG!).

Here are some of the more memorable pics of the day…

Outside the Zurich HB – Zurich’s main train terminal.

Trams plying through the city.

Probably the ONLY English bookstore in Switzerland!!!

Some city sights…

And by the end of a day of walking, we could only manage these… (which are my favourite, by the way!! :) )

You can view the rest of the pictures here. Hope you had a good weekend! :)

Paris

You must be wondering it’s weird that my internet has been up but I haven’t posted any updates.. :) Well, yeah, I’ve been too busy surfing the net for other stuff. :)

Anyways, just a quick post to say that we’ll be going to PARIS!! Yup, you heard right, the city of lights. We’re gonna rent a car and drive… quite adventurous considering we haven’t even driven since we got here!

We’ll be gone from 30 April to 5 May and we’ll actually be staying at Disneyland for 2 nights. Whoooppeee!! I LOVE staying at the Disney hotels, there’s just something magical about it even to over-grown adults like Jon and myself.

If you’ve been to Paris, we’d love suggestions on what we must see, where to stay, where to eat, where NOT to go …haha… anything!! It’d be greatly appreciated. :)

Connected!

Ok! I’m officially connected to the world, finally! The internet guy came today and though it’s not wireless, better than nothing right?!? LOL!

Delayed…

Argghhhsss!! I hate having no internet connections, it feels like being isolated on Timbaktu!!!

Anyways, here are a string of entries I did the past few days so that I don’t forget…

Monday 7 April

It’s the 2nd week we’re here. I thought we could be adventurous enough to take the train to Konstanz by ourselves, since the day before I didn’t get to do any shopping. :) So I went with the kids, on the 9.30am non-stop train… it took 20+ mins and the kids were well-behaved, doing their Kumon worksheets on the train. :) There was almost no one in the shopping centre, unlike Saturday when it was packed. So we could walk leisurely and check out the stores. The kids, as usual, made their way to the toy store and because we didn’t ship any toys over (except Lego), Jon and I thought we could reward them with toys when they did their work properly.

Homeschooling is quite a challenge, not just for the kids, but for me as well. Lots of discipline required but what I like about it is that it is flexible and there really isn’t much stress. :) We’re slowly getting into it. :)

Tuesday 8 April

The forwarders came with our boxes yesterday… that means, food!!! LOL!! You can’t imagine how much food we shipped over, lots of local stuff, canned food, chili. :) Before this, we’ve been eating lots of pasta, pizza, pasta and more pizza. :) So we’re really glad to see luncheon meat, baked beans, fried dace with black beans. :p And RICE!!!! :) I’ll be cooking tonight!! Woohooo!!!!

Oh, and how could I forget, my scrapping supplies are here too! :) I didn’t get to bring much, coz we were severely overweight… but at least, it’s enough to get something done. Looks like I’ll be SB shopping soon! :)

Wednesday 9 April

Just thought I’d update everyone on our daily routine (so far!)

9am Wake up & prepare breakfast for kids
10am ‘School’ part I
11-11.15am Break (phew!)
11.15am Back to ‘school’
12-2pm Prepare lunch, eat, wash up & rest
2pm ‘School’ part II
3pm End of ‘school’ YAY!!!
3-5.30pm Time for Me
5.30pm Prepare dinner

I haven’t been able to stay awake past 9 every night, but I figure I’ll need to if I want to get any scrapping done. Maybe I should start taking afternoon naps. :)
