Just Me

It’s Thursday today so let’s HIP HOP. But before that, I do apologise for the lack of updates on my blog of late, we just celebrated Chinese New Year a few days ago and J is back home for a week so you can just imagine how busy it has been around here. And I’ve done even LESS scrapping, but I did do a layout for HIP HOP today so if you’ve joined me from Jeanne’s blog, a HUGE welcome. You must have seen some major Unity goodness over there.

For this layout, I used the newly released Time for Travel set. I love this set, it’s perfect for all those vacation layouts I’ve been wanting to scrap. The inspiration for this layout is from an upcoming sketch to be released over at Inspired Blueprints on Feb 1st… watch for that too.

How time flies! Another week has gone by and it’s time for Hip Hop again. It’s also an exciting week coz the girls at Unity are on the way to the Craft and Hobby Association Winter Show (CHA) even as we speak. I remember the first time I saw Unity was at their debut at CHA exactly a year ago and look at where it is now! I can only imagine the places it’ll go with it’s innovative products and wonderful people and I couldn’t be more thankful to be part of this amazing company.

Anyway, back to Hip Hop. Please start at Angela’s blog for your Hip Hop (if you haven’t already). Be sure to check out the new releases as well as specials Unity has lined up for today. And a big ‘WELCOME’ if you came from Heather’s blog.

For today’s Unity inspiration, I did a layout using January’s Kit of the Month.

I love the stamps in this kit… perfectly themed for the coming Valentine’s Day. If you haven’t ordered yours, you have just a few days left before the end of Jan to get it.

If you’re anything like me, you’d find stamping on a layout to be rather nerve-wrecking. But take a look at this article and you may find some valuable tips on how to incorporate stamping on your layouts. I was honored to be asked by Patter, the writer of the article and a Unity chica, to contribute a layout for her article over at ScrapJazz.

I find the safest way is to stamp first on another piece of paper or cardstock before adhering to your layout. Here, I stamped the purple border, deer and arrow on white cardstock and cutting them out. The frame stamp behind the journalling is the only image stamped directly onto the layout.

Here’s a layout I wanted to share today using Unity…

I used today’s new release “JUST MY TYPE” for the word ‘FRANCE’ and the beautiful swirls from January’s Kit of the Month. Gorgeous, gorgeous kit and I know I’ll be using it often.

I’m still reeling from excitement from being on Unity’s scrapbook team and it’s such great fun to be designing with their awesome stamps. And thank you to everyone who comes by, I really appreciate each of your comments.

It’s DT Tuesday over at Unity today and guess who’s featured today? Yup, it’s me.

Here is a layout I’ve done using Unity…  the inspiration comes from the first mixer at Mix It Up.

I used Unity’s Tell Me About stamp for the journaling block.

And I’m also guest designing for Backporch Memories this month. Thank you, Paula and Alissa for the opportunity. It was great fun working with the kit and here are the layouts and cards created… ooh, I’ve sneaked some Unity in too.

Happy Thursday everyone!! And that means it’s HIP HOP day!! I’m soooo excited to be participating in Hip Hop today as a member of Unity’s Scrapbooking Design Team. Woohoooo!! Unity now has a team of wonderfully talented scrapbook designers who will inspire you with stamping on layouts. Be sure to check them out by visiting their blogs.

I’m sharing a  layout I created using today’s new release – SHINE ON.

Aren’t those lamps simply too cute?? I love their whimsical yet classy look.

The SHINE ON set also includes short phrases which I’ve used to stamp for the title’s background. I find these stamps extremely versatile and can be used on almost any layout.
