Who Does That???

September 17th, 2009 § 115

Are you ready for the all-new Who Does That?? fun at Unity. This is gonna happen every Thursday starting from today. And speaking of today, there is a whopping 17 new stamps being released and 3 lucky winners today is gonna have $50 dollars worth of stamps sent to them! Now WHO DOES THAT??? Head on here to find out how!! :)

Here is a layout I want to share featuring one of the singles released today – Vintage Postcard.

I love how the postcard stamps fits so beautifully on this travel-themed layout. :)

Dim sum (literally meaning “a bit of heart”) is the name for a Chinese cuisine which involves a wide range of light dishes served alongside Chinese tea.

I recently did a trip with my girlfriends to Hong Kong and we had lots of Dim Sum and shopping and “dolling up”.

This layout is inspired by the new sketch released over at Inspired Blueprints.

I hope you enjoyed the little inspiration for today. Remember to leave a comment (before tomorrow)  and you could win $50 worth of stamps. :)

Are you ready for happy hour???

On another note, my scrap supplies are almost all organised. Now I just need to get some shelves to put them on. :)

March Sizzix Project

March 15th, 2009 § 4

Good morning everyone… :)

I thought I’d share the project I did for my LSS, Made with Love, for March this morning. The theme for the month was HEAVY METAL and this is what I did.

I was given a Provocraft tin to alter and I painted it with Claudine Hellmuth’s Studio paint (in black) before adhering patterned paper. I really LOVE how easily the paint went on and the dark, intense coverage it gave. I’ve used other acrylic paints before but I must say this is my favourite! :)

Both the frames (film strip and the other one) were cut using the Sizzix Big Shot. The filmstrip was cut out from chipboard, painted over with Distress Crackle paint (gold), inked and applied with Distress Stickles (gold as well :) ).

As for the other frame, it was cut out from a metal sheet. That was really easy with the Big Shot. :) I then stamped and embossed on it as well. I’m really pleased that the fine words were able to show through with the embossing.

Initially, I was kind of daunted by this task but it turns out I enjoyed doing it after all! :)
