I finally got down to scrapping – since my last layout in November!! In the beginning, it did take off rather slowly and with some difficulty but after tinkering with it for a few days, it became a whole lot easier! Of course it helps to have great photos to scrap.

I used a mix of old and new supplies on this layout. I took the opportunity to dig up some old stash such as the Making Memories metal clip, Maya Road Sheer Journalling Tag and Unity Stamps.

My Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint has also been getting a lot of love lately.

Pictures are of the cutest baby Tya … such a sweetie pie she is and what a blessing to her parents Agnes and Navin.
On another note, we attended Erin’s 7th birthday party recently and here are some photos…

Have a good week and thanks for stopping by!!

We celebrated Hannah’s birthday last Saturday with a big bash. We’ve been planning it for some time now and she has been looking forward to the party for the longest time. We settled on a Tinkerbell theme and had party supplies shipped in from the U.S.
We still can’t believe 7 years have gone by so quickly. I still look at her and see her as my ‘little baby’. Guess moms and dads will always look at their children that way, no matter how old they get, huh?
Anyway, here are some pics from that wonderful day…

This is the birthday cake – custom ordered cupcakes which are oooh sooo pretty!!

You can see more pictures here.
I finally scrapped some yesterday after more than 2 months. I’m glad things are settled down somewhat and I can get back to crafting. Will be back tomorrow to share the project.

I admit I haven’t been shooting as often as I would like to, and I REALLY SHOULD! But here are some random shots from the past week.
We celebrated my brother-in-law’s birthday last week with a treat to a nice Italian restaurant.

The beef carpaccio was YUMMY!!!

As was this risotto.

The kids had pizza and they looked happy…

These are some pictures taken on Sunday at church…

J’s colleague, Hung and his wife, invited our family to a house-warming last night. A nice, cozy home about 5mins drive from where we are.
After we arrived, I soon found out the cook in the family was Hung. I am rather impressed with many husbands these days, who seem to be the one cooking… and they’re great at it too!
So I couldn’t resist snooping around the kitchen for these…

The host had some help after awhile…Rob, Shankar and Shankar’s wife and of course, J.

Before long, the YUMMY food made it to the table. Check it out…

A variety of cheeses.

Heavenly shrimps sauteed with garlic, olive oil, parsley, lemon juice and white wine.

Jackie’s potato salad.

Roasted lamb leg with roasted veggies.
And Vietnamese spring rolls (which I didn’t manage to get a picture of
). Hung’s Vietnamese, you see.
But what’s a party without good company right? Here are pictures of the guests (big and little
).

And I leave you with pictures of the host and his lovely wife… thanks for having us over!

Just one more post for today…
I was really excited to go take some pictures today (partly because I needed new photos for scrapping) but also to get out for the weekend. We were going to Rob & Jackie’s place for dinner so we decided to go check out the zoo at Frauenfeld. Turns out it was a really SMALL zoo but what was rather impressive was that they had a pair of lions and tigers, even a puma and a panther. I didn’t expect to see these in such a small and unknown zoo. Of course, they were in tiny, pathetic cages so I pity these animals.
After the zoo, it was dinner and we got a chance to taste, first-hand, Rob’s French cuisine. He had just completed a culinary course at Le Cordon Bleu and we were all eager to try what he had learnt. And the meal did not disappoint.. for starters, Foie Gras with Arugula and the entree was a chicken dish (arrrghhh!! I can’t remember the name!!) and dessert was a gingerbread cake with Creme Anglais… YUM!!! As you can tell, we’re probably VERY stuffed right now, so I’ll just leave you with some photos.

p/s: We celebrated Jackie’s birthday today and she got a little gift from us. Here’s Ethan bringing out the gift and then helping to open it.
Happy birthday again!!
And hope you like this shot, it’s lovely.

More pictures of the day here.

Almost every week, we go over to the Hartzell’s for dinner (they’re the sweetest, to have us over so often!). This week, was no exception.
It was a beautiful day, so before heading up, the kids and I hung out at the playground for awhile.

And these are the pics from dinner …

On the menu, nachos with cheese, salsa, guacamole and sour cream. For mains, it was tacos, beans and rice. Yummy, needless to say, as Rob is a great cook.
He’s going to Paris next week for a culinary course… watch out for some French cuisine coming up!!

It was a quiet day today. The kids did their work, I did some house chores… but I’m glad the weekend is coming. It’s E’s birthday this Sunday and we’ll be bringing him out this Saturday, haven’t decided where though.
I was on MSN todaywith a few friends from our church in Singapore… it’s soooo funny that they all though the ‘big news’ that I could only reveal on Thursday was that while we were in Paris, I got pregnant!! I was almost on the floor in laughter… hey guys – you sure have a really vivid imagination!!
But seriously, I really miss the fellowship with family and friends back home. Yes, although I am loving the life now, there is something missing. Talking on MSN or email is just not the same… How perfect it would be to have the best of both worlds.

This was our meal for dinner today – pepper crusted steak and garlic herb butter tagliatelle. It was good except that the sauce for the steak could be improved upon.
And on the scrapping front, the 1st sketch challenge at Creative Scrappers will be up this Sunday, 25 May … but in the meantime, here’s a sneakie of what I did for the sketch. I must admit this was a toughie, not something I would otherwise do. But it was a great challenge to get out of the ‘comfort zone’.

And this was the layout for UnPubbed – {gotta love that smile} …

Till next time, have a great FRIDAY!!! The weekend’s here!! YAY!!!

We haven’t had local, Singapore food for some time.. so it was awesome when Jackie and Rob invited us over for dinner yesterday.. Rob and Jon’s colleague, Shankar were the cooks for the night. Check out the yummy, yummy food…

The lamb curry that Rob prepared was out-of-this world.
I had 3 servings!!! More pictures on Jackie’s blog.

Oh yes, I forgot about this post. We had a bbq last Sunday at Casey & Lena’s place. It was cool coz they live on a farm and it’s a really new experience for us who come from urban jungles. It was cool, relaxing, serene…
Here are some pics…

Some after-dinner fun – see my stack of chips???

It was great fun! Thanks Casey and Lena!

J and myself thought of giving ourselves a treat this Sunday, afterall it IS 10 years.
We’re thinking of a buffet brunch, the champagne type.. heehee. We’ve been to the one at One-Ninety at Four Seasons twice, and might be going back there again. The food’s nice, ambience is too and the desserts are to-die-for, but it’d be great to have more suggestions. So, if you’ve been to a great champagne brunch, I’d love to know where. Do drop a post here, ya? Thanks!
